George and his wife, Livia, have three grown daughters. When George was named in 2009 “Budweiser Conservationist of the Year,” he used the accompanying $50,000 grant money to support the Bayou Meto Wildlife Management Area, the public lands adjacent to Five Oaks, because he believes in the sanctity of our public areas. Additionally, after volunteering since the age of 16, he became president of Ducks Unlimited from 2013-2015. George’s abiding passion for and dedicated service to conservation led him to become a member of the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission from 2005 to 2012 and served as its Chairman from 2011-2012. After college in Memphis, he moved to Arkansas County to farm that land, and he never left it. Black, owned farmland in Arkansas County, which George visited throughout his youth. Jody’s goal is 1 millions acres before he dies.George grew up in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, not far from Stuttgart-the “Rice and Duck Capital of the World.” He began accompanying his father on hunting trips at the age of eight and shot his first gun at ten-sparking a lifelong passion for the sport of waterfowl hunting. He is closing in on 500,000 acres of positive waterfowl habitat enhancement and management. Wood ducks nest in holes high up in trees. Jody has personally worked on 121 clubs across the country with an additional 225,000 impacted through restoration and management consultation. Nearly all farm-raised ducks can trace their ancestry to this widespread waterfowl. started a company named Five Oaks Wildlife Services, LLC. That is what drives Jody, learning more and trying new management practices…the wildlife response! Last season was his 22 nd year as a Waterfowl Guide. Being able to see the wildlife respond to the management practices excited him. Jody remembers growing his first deer food plot on the family farm when he was thirteen years old. Both of his grandfathers had family farms and after they passed away he and his parents took over management of the farms. He grew up on a small farm in southern Arkansas. All he has ever really known is the outdoors and trying to learn more about wildlife management. Hunting is Jody’s addiction! Habitat Management is his passion! His goal in life was to be a “wetland biologist”.
